I was previously a professional footballer for AFC Wimbledon for four years, and I also worked for my family business while deciding what to pursue as a long-term career option. I then joined a boutique recruitment firm that focused on financial markets before setting my sights on a more ambitious company to develop my skills further.
I was looking for a new challenge in recruitment and was interviewing at several well-known companies. After meeting the directors at Nexus Search, and hearing about the ambitious goals and targets they had in place, I was convinced it was the right move for me. It was clear that they could develop my recruitment career more than anyone else.
The opportunity to communicate with senior executives in some of the world’s most exciting and well-known brands, as well as the opportunity to compete both internally and externally in a fast-paced, competitive market. My role here allows me to learn new things every day, and presents the opportunity for life-changing financial rewards.
Definitely the fast-paced environment, which pushes you to be better every day. Nexus Search wants to be the best, and despite the friendly competition internally, we are all working toward the same goal: we all want to be successful together. We kick off every morning with team target meetings, which really creates some energy first thing. We outline what we want to achieve for the day and week ahead. This is then followed by headhunting and speaking to the best candidates in the market on behalf of our clients, pitching them career-changing opportunities. Most lunchtimes, we go to the gym together as a company, as it’s a great opportunity to get away from your desk.
Monday to Thursday are typically long, hard-working days, so we always finish at 4pm on Fridays to round up our performances for the week, followed by a trip to the pub to celebrate.
