The client
Our client is one of the world’s largest automotive technology suppliers, formed through the merger of two major tier-1 suppliers, with 300+ production sites in 37 countries and €26bn+ in annual revenue.
The business is expanding rapidly toward ambitious 2030 growth targets, which brings constant restructuring and change, and a steady need for senior operational leaders who can step in and drive results quickly. One recurring theme behind the roles: many long-tenured staff had grown stagnant, so the client leaned on the search to bring in fresh energy – people capable of moving up two levels quickly, building a new first line of operational leadership across the business.
The Challenge
Large, matrixed organisations move slowly by nature: multiple stakeholders local HR, an HR director, an operations director, a VP of operations, sometimes even a COO – all want to meet candidates, and offers have to clear several approval stages. Left unmanaged, that timeline risks losing a candidate’s motivation altogether.
The client’s reputation in the market cuts both ways too – some candidates arrive with preconceptions, good and bad, that the search has to work through.
